Table
No. 7
The seventh table is where the creative
invention of Tommasi Ferroni has given its
best fruits. Here he conceived
of an architectural "capriccio"
which combines St. Peter's Square in the
foreground next to which is the fountain
of Trevi, the Olympic Stadium, the Church
of St. Mary of Loreto, as well as the
Church of Sant'Ivo of Wisdom, the Basilica
of St. John Lateran and that of St. Mary
Major, the tomb of Cecilia Metella, the
Fount of the Rivers by Bernini and,
symbolically, EUR and the periphery of
Rome. The coat of arms of Archbishop
Jorge M. Mejia, the Bibliotecario of the
Holy Roman Church and that of Father
Raffaele Farina, Prefect of the Vatican
Library form a part of the
composition.
