ADDRESS OF PAUL
VI TO A GROUP OF PILGRIMS FROM UGANDA
Saturday, 21 June 1975
Dear
sons and daughters,
Once again
joy for us to welcome a group of Holy Year pilgrims from Uganda, this time from
the northern part of the country. We know that you have made a great effort to
come to Rome, to take your place here with your brothers and sisters from other
parts of the world, and thus to show forth the wonderful universality of the
Church of God. We have had the occasion recently to renew all our love and
affection for the Ugandan people, and we do so again today on this happy
occasion.
May the
Lord Jesus increase your faith and love here in Rome; may he fill you with
joy-abundant and overflowing. Take our greetings back to Africa. Repeat our
message to your families and all your dear ones: the Pope loves Uganda.
