On 9 April 2000, the Fifth Sunday of Lent, at 10:00 a.m., His Holiness Pope John Paul II will celebrate the Eucharist in Saint Peters Square and beatify the following Servants of God:
MARIANO DE JESÚS EUSE HOYOS, Priest;
FRANCIS XAVIER SEELOS, Priest, of the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer;
ANNA ROSA GATTORNO, Religious, Foundress of the Institute of the Daughters of Saint Anne;
MARIA ELISABETH HESSELBLAD, Virgin, Foundress of the Order of the Most Holy Saviour of Saint Bridget;
MARIAM THRESIA CHIRAMEL MANKIDIYAN, Virgin, Foundress of the Congregation of the Holy Family.
During our Lenten journey towards Easter let us not hesitate in following the example of the new Beati, who for love of Christ and their brothers and sisters became a small seed which, sown in the field of the world, brought forth much fruit.
