EUCHARISTIC CELEBRATION
FOR THE CONCLUSION OF THE XLVII
INTERNATIONAL EUCHARISTIC CONGRESS
On 25 June 2000, the Eleventh Sunday of Ordinary Time, at 6:30 p.m., in
Saint Peter’s Square, His Holiness Pope John Paul II will preside at the
concelebration of Holy Mass along with the Cardinals, Archbishops Bishops and
all priests present in Rome on the occasion of the conclusion of the XLVII
International Eucharistic Congress. The theme of the Congress is: “Jesus
Christ, the one Saviour of the World, Bread for New Life”.

“May the celebration of the International Eucharistic Congress give
Christians in Rome and throughout the world the strength to live ever more
intensely that missionary spirit which must inspire the Church of the Third
Millennium”.

1. Meeting places
- Cardinals: Chapel of Saint Sebastian in Saint Peter’s Basilica (6:00
p.m.).
- Archbishops and Bishops: Gregorian Chapel in Saint Peter’s Basilica
(5:45 p.m.).
- Priests: “Braccio di Costantino”, entrance from the Bronze Door at
the end of the left colonnade; priests wishing to concelebrate must bring
the concelebration ticket issued by this Office (5:30).
2. Vesture:
- Cardinals, Archbishops and Bishops will find vestments ready in their
respective meeting places. Cardinals should however bring with them the
white damask mitre, Bishops the simple white mitre.
- Priests should bring with them an amice, alb, cincture and white stole
3. Arrangements
At the proper time, the concelebrants, led by the Masters of Ceremonies,
will take their places in Saint Peter’s Square.
4. Mass
-The celebration of Mass will begin at 6:30 p.m.
The Cardinals will enter in procession with the Holy Father.
-At the conclusion of the Mass, once the Holy Father has left the esplanade
in front of Saint Peter’s Basilica, the concelebrants will return in
procession to their sacristies in the following order: Cardinals, Bishops,
priests.
