Cardinal Corrado Ursi, Archbishop emeritus of Naples, was born on 26 July 1908 in Andria (Italy). He was ordained a priest on 25 July 1931.

From 1931 until 1951 he was vice-rector and then rector of the Pontifical Regional Seminary of Molfetta. During this period, he was also active in Azione Cattolica.

On 31 July 1951 he was elected bishop of Narḍ. During this period, he took initiative in the construction of a new seminary; organized study courses for the laity; and, provided assistance to the sick and poor.

On 30 November 1961, he was promoted to the metropolitan see of Acerenza. 

On 23 May 1966 he was transferred to the metropolitan see of Naples. As archbishop he was dedicated to Vatican Council’s directives and increased lay participation in the evangelization of the church.

Created and proclaimed Cardinal by Paul VI in the consistory of 26 June 1967. Titular church, St. Callistus.

Cardinal Corrado Ursi died on 29 August 2003.
