sudan - darfur refugees

     In July 2004, the Holy Father entrusted Archbishop Paul Josef Cordes with a mission to visit Darfur refugees in Sudan where he presented a donation of 100,000.00 Euros. During the following month of November, he was invited to appear on a TV programme on the difficult situation in that region, inhabited mainly by Christians.  On that occasion a collection for funds was consequently organised, and the public responded very generously, enabling "Cor Unum" to send an additional 394,000.00 Euros.
