Berceau de civilisations, carrefour de continents, théâtre de confrontations culturelles, la Méditerranée peut être, aujourdÂ’hui plus que jamais, un lieu de rencontre de peuples et nations de cultures et religions différentes. Ce petit livre de la collection Culture et Foi présente quelques contributions au Colloque sur les Centres Culturels Catholiques des Pays de la Méditerranée, tenu à Bologne du 1er au 4 octobre 1998 et organisé par le Conseil Pontifical de la Culture en collaboration avec le Centre San Domenico. Le Cardinal Poupard, dans son intervention, souligne que " lÂ’histoire de la Méditerranée coïncide depuis deux millénaires avec lÂ’histoire de la culture engendrée par le christianisme ", et le Cardinal Biffi, Archevêque de Bologne, citant Alfred de Musset, rappelle quÂ’" à partir de ces rivages, une immense espérance a traversé la terre ". Au dire de Mgr Zani (Conférence Episcopale Italienne), il faut " Ré-apprendre " le Christ pour relever les défis culturels de la post–modernité. Henri Boulad (Egypte), dans son exposé " Perspectives de dialogue dans un contexte culturel marqué par lÂ’Islam ", voit dans la culture le lieu de la créativité propre de lÂ’homme, et pour lui toute expérience humaine véritable constitue une authentique expérience religieuse.

Este libro recoge las ponencias del Simposio cuyo objetivo ha sido suscitar, en la perspectiva del Gran Jubileo, una reflexión en torno al Espíritu Santo y a la virtud teologal de la esperanza.
