Program of Events related to the Canonization

  

Thursday, October 3 

The mortal remains of Blessed Josemaria will be in the Roman Basilica of St. Eugene for veneration by the faithful from October 3 to October 9. The Basilica is at n.10, Via delle Belle Arti. 

 

Opening hours of the Basilica:   

October 3:  15.00 - 19.00 h
October 4: 8.00 - 21.00 h
October 5: 8.00 - 21.00 h
October 6: 13.30 - 21.00 h
October 7: 14.30 - 21.00 h
October 8: 8.30 - 21.00 h
October 9:  8.30 - 21.00 h.

There will be an exhibition about the life of the new saint in the cortile of the Basilica during those days.

 

Friday, October 4 

21:00 h Presentation of Project Harambee 2002 in the Auditorio dell'Accademia Nazionale Santa Cecilia (Via della Conciliazione, n. 4)

Sunday, October 6

10:00 h Solemn Eucharistic Celebration presided by Pope John Paul II for the canonization of Josemaria Escriva in Saint Peter's Square
12:00 h Praying of the Angelus with the Holy Father, with greeting and blessing for the faithful

 

Monday, October 7

10:00 h Thanksgiving Mass in Saint Peter's Square in honor of Saint Josemaria Escriva, presided by Msgr. Javier Echevarria and concelebrated by the General Vicars of the Prelature of Opus Dei.
11:30 h  Audience with His Holiness John Paul II
