ACCREDITATION FOR TV CREWS AND STILL PHOTOGRAPHERS
OCTOBER 15-22, 2003, CELEBRATIONS


October 9, 2003 is the deadline for audiovisual accreditation applications for TV crews and still photographers covering the Beatification of Mother Teresa of Calcutta, the 25th anniversary celebrations of the Pontificate of Pope John Paul II and the Ordinary Public Consistory for the creation of new Cardinals.
If you have not already applied for accreditation, please do so now by clicking on the [ Accreditation Form ] box below and completing the form.
Please note that you will only receive a response from us if there are problems or questions regarding your request.

If you have difficulties using the web form, please fax +390669885373 or e-mail av@pccs.va the following information to us:
  • a written request from the TV organization or photo agency along with the name(s) and title(s) of the people requiring accreditation
  • a photocopy of each personÂ’s passport

    One accreditation badge valid for all the events will be issued. You may pick up your badge at the following address and times. Please bring your passport as proof of identity:

Regulations for audio-visual coverage (February, 2002)

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING IMPORTANT RULES FOR PAPAL CEREMONIES

    Before the Ceremony:
  • All accredited TV crews and photographers (each with a yellow or permanent badge) are permitted to photograph or videotape in Saint PeterÂ’s Square up to 20 minutes before the PopeÂ’s arrival. Stand-ups and interviews are also allowed. The photo below indicates the area of St. PeterÂ’s Square where all this is possible.
  • 20 minutes before the PopeÂ’s arrival everyone must go to the left colonnade (when facing Saint PeterÂ’s Basilica) to proceed up to the roof terrace of the "Braccio di Carlo Magno" (also indicated on photo below).

        During the Ceremony:
  • No interviews or stand-ups are allowed in and around Saint PeterÂ’s Square so as not to disturb the celebration.
  • A small group or pool of still photographers (each wearing a red card badge) are authorized to stay in Saint PeterÂ’s Square for the first few minutes of the ceremony. Afterwards, they must join the others at the Braccio di Carlo Magno rooftop terrace.
  • Photographing, videotaping and stand-ups are allowed in the indicated areas of the Braccio di Carlo Magno rooftop terrace.

        After the Ceremony:
  • Photographing, videotaping and stand-ups are allowed outside Saint PeterÂ’s Square in the Via della Conciliazione area (indicated on photo below).

        General:
    All are requested to dress appropriately for the event (dark suit and necktie for men, dark dress or suit for women).
