DEPARTURE by train from the Railway Station of Vatican City to Assisi.

Mr. Pietro Lunardi, Minister for Infrastructures and Transportation will be on the train.

Stations: Roma-San Pietro; Roma-Ostiense; Roma-Tuscolana; Roma-Tiburtina; Orte; San Liberato; Nera Montoro; Narni-Amelia; Terni; Baiano di Spoleto; Campello sul Clitunno; Trevi; Foligno; Spello; Santa Maria degli Angeli (Assisi).

The train will not stop in the stations.

The train, as a means of transportation from the Vatican, has been used by Pope John XXIII for his voyage to Assisi and Loreto on 4 Octorber 1962 and by Pope John Paul II on 8 November 1979 to go to the Deposit of the Italian Railroad at Roma-Salario, where he celebrated Holy Mass on the occasion of the Day of the Railwayman.

PRAYER FOR PEACE by the Representatives of the various Religions in the different locations assigned within Assisi (in the Lower Basilica of Saint Francis: Christians; in the Sacred Convent: Islam, Buddhism, Sikhism, African Traditional Religions, Hinduism, Tenrykyo, Shintuism, Judaism, Zoroastrianism, Giainism, Confucianism).

The Holy Father presides the prayer of the Christians in the Lower Basilica of Saint Francis in Assisi [Plurilingual].

Reading in various languages of the common commitment to peace [Plurlingual]. Short exhortation by the Holy Father:

Violence never again!
War never again!
Terrorism never again!
In God's name, 
may all religions bring upon earth
justice and peace,
forgiveness, life and love!

The Holy Father lights a lamp of the candelabrum, followed by all the Representatives of the various Religions. Monition by Cardinal Walter Kasper, President of the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity.
