The celebration will be presided over by the Holy Father's Delegate, Cardinal Claudio Gugerotti, the Prefect of the Dicastery for the Oriental Churches.
During the Liturgy of the Word, the account of the Passion according to John was read. The preacher of the Pontifical Household, the Reverend Fr. Roberto Pasolini, O.F.M. Cap., delivered the homily.
The Liturgy of the Passion continued with the universal Prayer and the adoration of the Holy Cross, and concluded with Holy Communion.
